Namaste there. Ever heard of Tansen? Tansen is a hill station located in the Western hills of Nepal and a transit between Pokhara and Lumbini (Birth Place of Lord Buddha). It is a medieval town that sits on the lap of Srinagar Hill. Tansen is famous for it’s charming, authentic medieval feel and way of life. Tansen was once headquarter of the most powerful kingdom (Palpa) before the unification of Nepal. The Magar kingdom turned into a Newari place and Newa traders and artisans became famous for their Metal and Dhaka (cloth) crafts.
In this virtual tour, the hosts of Horizon Homestay will show you some of the historic monuments like Ranaujjeshwari Temple, Palpa Palace Museum, Amarnarayan Temple, etc. You will also be able to see old Newari architecture and buildings and market areas which include a brief visit to 24 carat Gold Shop and a Tailor’s Shop too. Tansen is also called the younger brother of Kathmandu Vallley. You will be able to experience the culture of unspoiled part of Nepal listed in UNESCO’s World Heritage site’s Tentative list.
