Sonja Rusticus and Budhi Darlami are living in West Nepal where they run their own guesthouse and organize jungle, countryside tours and treks. Helmich Riezebos is owner of a tour operator in the Netherlands and organizes custom made journeys to Nepal for Dutch travelers.
For many years we have been working together to give our mutual customers a unique travel experience in Nepal, and to share our knowledge and passion about Nepal. We deeply care about the future of the local people and the communities in Nepal with whom we co-operate.
On the 24th of March 2020 Nepal announced a national lock down, due to the threat of COVID-19. From that day on international travel has come to a standstill and it is to expect that it will take months before Nepal can welcome tourists again. It means that many people who are working in the tourism sector in Nepal (almost 1,3 million people) have lost their jobs. Usually no job means: no income.
Therefore we want to close the gap and have designated virtual tours. To see how the money you pay is spend: check out impact.
MyNepal.online wants to connect Nepalese locals, who are working in tourism, online with travelers who feel connected with or want to experience Nepal virtually.
On the platform MyNepal.online we like to offer virtual tours and classes to travelers who want to learn more about the nature and culture of Nepal and who feel committed to support the local people and communities.
Local hosts will be able to share their knowledge and passion, to develop new (online) skills and to generate income for their families and communities.
